Position: School Premises and Safety ManagerLocation: Ilford, IG6Role: Permanent Salary: £40,833 - £42,840 per annum (LBR Grade 10)Hours: 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per yearOur client is a selective secondary grammar school for boys based in Ilford. The school is a single site school with around 1,300 students.

They are looking to appoint a Premises and Safety Manager who has knowledge of building and property management. The outgoing P&S Manager has put in some excellent systems and you will be joining a very well maintained school.

You will report to the School Business Leader, and through a team of three site staff you will manage, the security, cleanliness and maintenance of the school and all the associated sites along with the management of school lettings.

The Premises and Safety Manager is responsible for the Health & Safety Management of the school and you will ensure compliance with legislation and policy whilst assisting the School Business Leader in the development of school facilities with a view to increasing and/or improving provision.

This role incorporates a range of reactive and scheduled work, therefore attention to detail and a 'can do' attitude are a must.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Accredited H&S Competent Person, or working towards NEBOSH certificate/Diploma
  • Good general standard of education to 'A' level / NVQ level 3 standard or equivalent or substantial successful experience in a similar role
  • Project Management experience, experience with working within compliance, H&S or evidence of basic practical competencies: plumbing, electrics, carpentry, low-level handy-person skills, IOSH certification.
  • First Aid
  • Good working knowledge of heating, cooling, security and plant systems
  • Have an awareness of health and safety issues within the school environment
