About the role: 

At Wyre Forest DC we provide some of the most important front-line services to our residents through our Operational Services Teams based in Kidderminster. Management of our fleet to deliver critical operational functions such as Waste, Parks and Open Spaces and Street Scene are part of the core functions of the garage and are at the very heart of our community.

We now have a unique career opportunity for an individual with the right credentials to lead the management of the garage function and to be the nominated Operational license holder for our fleet of vehicles. 

The right individual will have strong fleet management management skills and experience leading a small team enabling operational services to deliver the very highest standards of public service delivery. They will have a robust & resilient nature together with a can-do attitude that is able to drive the team to deliver this vital service. A confident and motivated individual who is up front and can lead from the front. In return the right person will be joining a highly energised and focussed team, who are very clear on their priorities and the importance of this function to the operation. This is a management post within the team and attracts all the normal benefits of joining the local government family.

Special Conditions:

You may be required to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post.
This job includes duties that may require a substantial amount of physical effort and mobility on a frequent basis.

The normal working week is 37 hours however, a flexible approach to working hours is required. The post holder must be able to work outside normal office hours if necessary to respond to out of hours call outs or emergencies or to attend evening meetings. Special working arrangements for Bank Holidays and Christmas working applies
