Litigation Lawyer (Part-Time)

Remuneration: £45,573 - £48,836 plus a market supplement of up to £4,786 per annum (pro rata) and generous benefits including Local Government Pension Scheme.

Introduction:

Waverley Borough Council seeks a Litigation Solicitor to join their team on a part-time basis, of around 18 – 30 hours per week, on a flexible working pattern.

As Litigation Lawyer, you will manage a broad litigation caseload touching upon both civil and criminal matters. You will be supported by a Senior Lawyer and Deputy Borough Solicitor to further develop your experience and expertise.

Now is the ideal moment to join the Legal Services team at Waverley, which has recently received a substantial boost in resources. As we forge ahead in developing and refining our services, this presents a genuine opportunity to develop your expertise and build a rewarding career with the Council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on regulatory and prosecutions matters, civil claims, possessions, and housing disrepair
  • Deal with licensing matters including attending the Council’s licensing committees
  • Provide support to Senior Lawyers and potentially Deputy Borough Solicitor

About you:

  • Qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with an up-to-date practising certificate (the cost of the practising certificate will be met annually by Waverley Borough Council)
  • Experience of working in either civil, commercial or criminal litigation
