Marks Sattin are delighted to be working exclusively with a large manufacturing business in West Yorkshire to recruit a Group Tax Manager. It is an exciting time to join the business as they continue with ambitious growth plans and consolidating their position as one of the leading groups in their industry.

Reporting to the Head of Tax, the Group Tax Manager will support the team in managing the group's tax function. The role will cover a breadth of taxes so offers great variety and the opportunity to upskill, with the help of excellent training and a supportive team environment.

The role will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing annual corporation tax computations and returns
  • Preparing quarterly group tax provisions
  • Managing relationships with HMRC and dealing with enquiries
  • Group loss planning
  • Corporate interest restrictions
  • Country-by-Country reporting
  • Capital allowance reviews and R&D tax credits
  • Transfer Pricing
  • Reviewing monthly VAT returns
  • Plastic packaging tax returns
  • Assisting with Senior Accounting Officer
  • Preparing the group's annual PAYE Settlement Agreements
  • Assisting with M&A activity and group restructuring projects
  • Continuous process improvements
  • Managing relationships with external advisors

My client will consider applicants who are newly ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified, through to experienced Managers. Previous experience in a leading accountancy practice or in house tax team is essential. Candidates with either a corporate tax or indirect tax background can be considered and full training will be provided. In addition to technical expertise, strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital in order to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and to become a trusted business partner for the group's wider finance team.

In addition to an excellent starting salary, the successful candidate will be eligible for an on target bonus of 15% and superb additional benefits such as private medical insurance, generous holiday entitlement and free parking when in the office. The team work very flexibly with one day in the office together.
