Job Role:  Financial AccountantStarting Salary:  £30,000 - £40,000Working hours are 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch and 2x 10 minute paid breaks.  Location:  Leicester (LE5)28 days holiday + bank/public holidaysCompany pension, free onsite parking, health insurance, retirement plan and opportunities for career growth and developmentThe CompanyMy Leicester based client is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team.  The ideal Financial Accountant will be responsible for all accounts related duties for the business.My client has a great reputation, is backed by leading brands in their industry and presents a great opportunity for a Financial Accountant to take on and manage critical functions within the business.Job Role:Your key responsibilities as a Financial Accountant, which are not exhaustive and not limited to include:
  • Payroll, VAT and HMRC tasks.
  • Managing accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers.
  • Maintaining internal financial accounting, monitoring and reporting.
  • Reporting monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries.
  • Preparing and presenting statutory accounts, budgeting and forecasting reports.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Reporting on factors influencing business performance and potential risks.
  • Analysing market trends to maximise profits and find expansion opportunities.
  • Advising on ways to reduce costs.
  • Assisting in the audit process of current systems with external auditors.
  • Maintaining financial details to ensure legal requirements are met.
  • Maintaining relationships with Auditors, Solicitors, Bankers and Statutory Organisations.
  • Driving the continuous improvement of accounting practices.
Preferred Skills
  • Commercial and business awareness.
  • Ability to turn complex data into understandable form.
  • Competent in using accounting and office software packages, including Zero, Microsoft, Excel and Word.
  • Competent in managing financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent skills in providing and interpreting financial information.
  • The ability to build, manage and maintain budgets.
  • The ability to monitor and interpret cash flows with a view to predicting future trends.
  • The ability to analyse competitors and market trends and advise co-workers and stakeholders.
  • Experience in conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Excellent skills in researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance.
  • A good working knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
  • Thorough and methodical attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Analytical approach to work.
  • Confidence to use initiative to make quick, rational decisions.
  • High numeracy and proficient technical and I.T. skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications
  • Accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA, etc.
  • Time served as an Accountant.
