Metalis is working with a reputable engineering company who due to growth, are looking to hire a Press Brake Operative to join their expanding team on a 12 week temporary to permanent basis.

Role Overview:

As a Brake Press Setter/Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the accurate fabrication of metal components. Operating Amada machines, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating brake press equipment to bend, shape, and form metal according to precise specifications outlined in engineering drawings.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up Amada brake press machines according to job specifications, including tooling selection, machine calibration, and material alignment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and translate specifications into machine programming parameters, including bend angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Operate brake press machinery efficiently and safely to bend and form metal components with precision and accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of fabricated parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, quality standards, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with machine operation, tooling, or materials to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on brake press equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
