Buyer - Temporary Contract

Are you an experienced Buyer looking for a new opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute to a dynamic team? If so, we have a fantastic temporary position available for you!

Our client is seeking a skilled Buyer to join their team for a 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time position where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge in purchasing while working alongside a dedicated and cross-functional team.

This opportunity would suit someone immediately available.

The salary for this position is £30,000-£35,000.

Responsibilities:

  • Continually evaluate current and prospective vendors to ensure the best possible cost, quality, delivery, and overall supplier reliability.
  • Conduct data analysis, including using tools such as Excel and pivot tables, to support purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and related issues with vendors to secure favourable agreements.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments, such as production, R&D, sales, stores, and accounts, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records and update information in the ERP system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Identify and source alternative components to support production needs.
  • Assist in resolving invoice queries in a timely manner to maintain smooth payment processes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a buying position.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, including using tools such as Excel and pivot tables.
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Computer literate with expertise in MS Word and PowerPoint.
