A well established, market leading company who supply internationally are looking for a Buyer to join the purchasing team where you will be involved in a range of procurement activities.
The purchasing team is a team of four and as the Buyer you will play a key role in the procurement of direct materials and indirect services.
Job duties of the Buyer role include:
- Procurement of a varied portfolio of electronic and mechanical components
- Negotiating price, terms and related issues with vendors
- Preparing purchase orders through a computerized system and placing orders for the purchase of goods and services
- Resolving delivery, goods inwards and invoicing issues
- Reviewing contracts for changes prior to bid or renewal
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and ensuring supply contracts are adhered to
- Visiting suppliers and conducting audits
- Verifying Bill of Materials and maintaining up to date ERP and MRP systems
Skills and experience required:
- Experience in buying and procurement
- Experience gained within electronics manufacturing / engineering is essential
- Own transport is essential due to location
