A well established, market leading company who supply internationally are looking for a Buyer to join the purchasing team where you will be involved in a range of procurement activities.

The purchasing team is a team of four and as the Buyer you will play a key role in the procurement of direct materials and indirect services.

Job duties of the Buyer role include:

  • Procurement of a varied portfolio of electronic and mechanical components
  • Negotiating price, terms and related issues with vendors
  • Preparing purchase orders through a computerized system and placing orders for the purchase of goods and services
  • Resolving delivery, goods inwards and invoicing issues
  • Reviewing contracts for changes prior to bid or renewal
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and ensuring supply contracts are adhered to
  • Visiting suppliers and conducting audits
  • Verifying Bill of Materials and maintaining up to date ERP and MRP systems

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience in buying and procurement
  • Experience gained within electronics manufacturing / engineering is essential
  • Own transport is essential due to location
