We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the provision of financial information and manage the day-to-day operations of a lovely, family run business in the Finance Team. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of all finance-related activities within our family engineering business, which specialises in bespoke equipment.

Day to day of the role:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Manage the Finance Team, including conducting annual appraisals.
  • Handle invoice processing for purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Prepare payroll and journal postings.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage VAT returns, P11ds, and other statutory filings to HMRC.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Sales to ensure accurate cost/revenue recording on projects.
  • Manage cash and credit card expenses.
  • Process supplier payments, including international transactions.
  • Address account and billing queries from suppliers and customers.
  • Prepare trial balances and draft year-end accounts.
  • Liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Perform ad hoc accounts-related duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an Accounts/Finance role.
  • AAT qualification.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Proactive, organised, and motivated.
  • Capable of working within a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A strong team player who can engage effectively with other staff members.
Advantageous but not essential:
  • Experience with Sage
