OverviewWe're currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation in South Liverpool on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be pivotal in ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, as well as managing a team of part-qualified accountants.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of part-qualified accountants

  • Step in for the Finance Manager when required, ensuring consistent leadership across the finance function

  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies in accordance with IFRS and regulatory frameworks

  • Manage the month-end close process, including journal approvals and ensuring general ledger accuracy

  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy

  • Oversee bad debt provision reviews and support credit control activities

  • Assist with year-end audit preparation, including working papers and supporting documentation

  • Provide expert advice on technical accounting issues and complex queries

  • Continuously improve processes based on feedback and internal reviews

About You
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)

  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and principles

  • Previous experience in a financial accounting or reporting leadership role

  • Up-to-date understanding of relevant legislation and compliance requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines
