Adele Carr Recruitment is thrilled to partner with a renowned organisation in Liverpool who are seeking a Management Accountant to enhance their team.

Initially on a 12 month fixed-term basis with a view to a permanent position, the successful appointee will bolster the Finance team and provide much needed support to the Finance Director.

The role demands a finance business partner adept at providing budget holders with astute financial insights and reports. The ideal candidate will possess a robust track record, collaborating closely with the Finance Manager as a pivotal figure in finance, aiding the team with daily transactions and engaging in fiscal discussions with departmental budget holders.

Key monthly responsibilities include involvement in the management accounts process and aiding accounts payable and receivable during month-end closure. This varied role, calls for an accountant with a solid SME background, capable of juggling multiple revenue streams and adapting to fluctuating workloads.

Prospective candidates should be well-rounded, experienced professionals (AAT qualified or equivalent), demonstrating diligence, teamwork, and the confidence to liaise with key stakeholders, including the Owner / Managing Director.

The company is dedicated to enhancing controls and efficiency's, presenting opportunities to spearhead projects focused on process refinement, automation, and the development and implementation of new reporting frameworks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Finance Director with month-end procedures, financial reporting, and profit & loss analysis.
  • Generating Management accounts and conducting variance analysis.
  • Handling month-end journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Aiding budget holders with forecasting.
  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and banking transactions.
  • Contributing to statutory reporting, VAT, and tax assistance during year-end.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be eager to secure a full-time role in Liverpool.
  • Be an experienced accountant with comprehensive skills (AAT qualified or equivalent).
  • Be proactive, self-driven, and detail-oriented.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and deadline adherence.
  • Operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Be a communicative team player.
  • Have familiarity with the SME sector.
  • Possess advanced MS Excel capabilities.
