Your new companyMy client are a not-for-profit organisation in the arts sector with a prestigious site, in a sought after location in central London. They are seeking a Facilities Manager to join their team on a permanent basis in a newly created role.Your new roleAs Facilities Manager you will work with the team and support the management of maintenance, facilities, security and health & safety, as well as making sustainable continuous improvements to better facilitate their audiences, programmes and activities, staff and visitors. You will manage all aspects of the IT provision and third party tenant operations. You will also lead on sustainability across the site. Key duties and involvement will include:

  • Building management (maintenance, facilities and capital projects)
  • Tenant operations - day-to-day contact with tenant's management teams
  • Budget management - manage the facilities budget, oversee tendering processes and manage contracts/suppliers
  • Statutory obligations - ensure the site and its operations are always in adherence with statutory obligations
  • Safety & security systems - champion safe working practices and procedures and ensure H&S and security policies
  • Environment - act as champion for environmental issues and develop and implement policies in line with environmental legislation (carbon reduction etc.)
  • ICT infrastructure - manage the on-site 3rd party IT operative and have an interest in IT to be the organisation champion
  • Team management (facilities team)

What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role you will require relevant experience working in a broad facilities management role within venues with public access. You will also require:

  • Maintenance, facilities and capital projects experience
  • Interest in ecology and environmental issues to champion carbon reduction and keeping up-to-date with legislation
  • IT understanding in order to manage the on-site contractor and the relationship with the provider
  • Budget management experience
  • Up-to-date knowledge of H&S regulations, statutory compliance and security systems
  • Experience in managing a small in-house facilities team, as well as contractors
  • Experience in or desire and drive to oversee the above tasks listed
  • Hands-on and active approach
