Construction Logistics Manager

£45,000 - £65,000

Main Duties:

Daily tasks will change depending on the day and the project but can consist of:

  • Plan, implement, monitor and maintain logistics plan to include on-site secured and open material storage, material movements, personnel, plant and equipment separation.
  • Create external materials delivery plan, including delivery routes, off-site storage, vehicle holding areas and agreeing booking-in requirements.
  • Create, monitor and manage Waste Management Plan.
  • Input into CPHSP and site safety procedures, and into Construction Environmental Management Plan.
  • Participation in daily, weekly and other site meetings.
  • Plan and integrate with key sub-contractors to meet the needs of the programme.
  • Produce daily, weekly and long-term delivery schedules/plans.
  • Create and maintain usage schedules for key plant, e.g. cranes, hoists, telehandlers etc. and manage the teams.
  • Manage the movements of materials in and around the site.
  • Ensure that all personnel are appropriately trained and competent to undertake the role and operate plant and equipment safely.
  • Organise sufficient resources to support construction activities and maintain programme, including recruitment and agreement of normal and extended working hours (with agreement of Construction/Commercial Management)
  • Prepare, deliver and record Toolbox Talks as appropriate.
  • Produce, deliver and record RAMS and Environmental Risk Assessments for all logistics operations.
  • Ensure that all operations are undertaken in accordance with CPHSP and legislation, and Procure, monitor, distribute and maintain fire-protection equipment in accordance with the CPHSP.
  • Ensure environmental protection measures are installed and maintained, including daily and weekly inspections (recorded), including but not limited to perimeter security, debris netting, dust control, water run-off, fuel/oil/chemical control, concrete spillage, noise suppression, road and pavement cleaning.
  • Organise the installation and maintenance of site security, including secure perimeter fencing/hoarding, gates, CCTV, lighting, secure storage etc.
  • Ensure PUWER and LOLER inspections are undertaken and recorded and issues actioned accordingly

Requirements :

  • BSc, HND in construction or logistics management
  • SMSTS
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in either logistics or site management in the construction industry
  • Experience of PROCORE software is desirable but not essential.
  • Driving Licence
  • Strong planning, organisation skills and time management
  • Good people management and communication skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Methodical approach to work, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong desire to maintain and improve standards.
  • Excellent IT skills, competence in Microsoft office.
  • Experience of PROCORE software is desirable but not essential.
