We have an exciting role available with a respected local authority in South London. As a Senior Estate Surveyor within the local authority, you will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing the client's property portfolio across London. You will conduct property inspections, manage leases, negotiate acquisitions and disposals, and provide expert advice on property-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximise revenue through strategic property lettings and identify new income opportunities.
- Monitor lease agreements to protect the Council's interests and ensure compliance.
- Assist in minimising dilapidation claims against the Council through proactive measures.
- Identify and pursue commercial opportunities to enhance income streams and add value.
- Provide valuable support for major regeneration projects and participate in complex negotiations.
- Offer strategic housing advice to the Council to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Provide expert advice on estate management for third-party occupancies.
- Collaborate on initiatives to reduce carbon footprint within the estate.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Real Estate or related field, with RICS membership preferred.
- Proven experience as an Estate Surveyor or similar role within the public sector or local government.
- Extensive experience in strategic property roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of property valuation, leasing, and commercial transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of property legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive stakeholder relationships.
