Pay Rate: £40 per hour

Hours: Part-time, 7 hours available, these can be split over 2 days if required.

Main Duties of the Hairdressing Assessor:

  • Conducting assessments of hairdressing learners to evaluate their skills and knowledge according to established standards and criteria.
  • Providing constructive feedback to learners on their performance during assessments, highlighting areas of strength and areas needing improvement.
  • Offering guidance and support to learners throughout their training, helping them to develop their skills and confidence in hairdressing techniques.
  • Observing learners in practical settings, such as in salons or training facilities, to assess their competency in performing various hairdressing tasks.
  • Maintaining accurate records of assessment results, progress, and feedback for each learner, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Delivering training sessions or workshops to enhance learners' understanding of hairdressing theory and practical techniques.
  • Participating in standardisation activities with other assessors to ensure consistency in assessment processes and outcomes.
  • Liaising with colleagues, training providers, and external stakeholders to coordinate assessment activities and support learners effectively.
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and guidelines governing hairdressing training and assessment, including health and safety regulations

Requirements of the Hairdressing Assessor:

  • Hold full Level 2 and 3 Hairdressing qualifications, inclusive of men's hair cutting at both levels; preference for barbering expertise, though proficiency in men's cutting suffices if necessary.
  • Possess full IV (V1 and V2) qualifications and A1 assessors with TAQA update.
  • Maintain current CPD for the 2023/2024 year, involving at least 50 hours of practical experience in men's cutting within the industry.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the City and Guilds IV process, with all necessary paperwork available.
  • Willingness to provide photocopies of qualifications, CV, and CPD documentation (the centre retains CPD paperwork).
  • Willingness to present original certificates to the EQA upon request post-visit to the centre.
