My Fit Out Main Contractor client is after a Technical Designer to work on their projects across London. Their portfolio of work includes a variety of commercial, CAT A & B Fit out, cut and carve and refurbishment projects with a focus on innovation and excellence.

Due to an increase in workload, they are now keen to bring in a Technical Designer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have full project cycle experience, with a strong ability to address buildability issues. This role requires daily presence at their London office/site.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design process from conception to completion, ensuring all stages are thoroughly managed and documented.
  • Prepare and review detailed CAD drawings and specifications for various project stages.
  • Identify and resolve buildability issues, ensuring efficient and practical construction solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to integrate technical solutions into the project framework.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure design intent is accurately translated into the built environment.
  • Maintain high standards of design quality, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage and update project documentation, ensuring all changes are recorded and communicated effectively.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing design-related queries.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Technical Designer role with full project cycle exposure.
  • Strong background in addressing buildability issues in construction projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Experience with CAT A/B fit-out projects is highly desirable.
  • Relevant degree or qualification in architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work from the London office/site every day.
