I have been instructed on a permanent paralegal residential property role working 9.30am-5.30pm close to Liverpool Street. The firm offer hybrid working 3 days in the office/2 from home. The salary is between £32,000-£35,000 and please see below job spec:

The Department:-

The Real Estate team consists of five Partners, four Consultants, three Senior Associates, three Associates, a Solicitor, two Legal Assistants, one Trainee and three Secretaries. The successful candidate may be given work by all members of the team but will work primarily for the Residential Property team and will report to them on their individual matters, otherwise they will report to the Head of the Residential Team and ultimately to the Head of the Real Estate Department.

The Role: -

The person will work in the team and build on their previous property experience in firms with this level of exposure. The person will be involved in but not limited to;

  • Matters from client opening, to post-completion matters
  • Drafting or considering and negotiating a wide range of legal documents relating to property management including but not limited to;

o Licences (for assignment, alterations and underletting);

o Wayleave agreements;

o Letting agreements;

o Rent review memorandum;

o Deeds of covenant; and

  • Due diligence-on purchases, and compilation of sale packs-on sales.
  • Preparing first drafts (from template documents and Heads of Terms) for reasonably straightforward contracts for sale and leases.
  • Helping with post exchange / post completion formalities on commercial transactions - SDLT Returns, Land Registry applications and so on.
  • Carrying out administrative tasks such as deed scheduling.
  • Performing research online and via portals, as requested,
  • Preparing materials for departmental meetings, including preparing and assembling presentations, printing and copying.
