We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor with specialized experience in Ductwork to join our team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to kick-start their career in quantity surveying within the construction industry. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and support while gaining hands-on experience in estimating, cost management, and procurement processes for ductwork projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior quantity surveyors in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for ductwork projects.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and assist in analyzing project specifications and drawings.
  • Support in the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, negotiating with suppliers, and issuing purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to monitor project costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor agreements and managing subcontractor relationships.
  • Track and report on project financial performance, including budget vs. actual costs and variations.
  • Support in preparing and submitting payment applications and valuations.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide support to project teams as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Some prior experience in quantity surveying, ideally with exposure to ductwork projects.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs related to ductwork installation.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills within the construction industry.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
