Kolae is a Thai restaurant from the team behind som saa, located in Borough Market.
Kolae serves exceptional Thai food, using the best of both British and Thai produce. With a focus on grilled dishes, especially Southern Thai style grilled kolae chicken, but you can also expect grilled and raw seafood dishes, salads pounded to order, fiery nam phrik relishes and a regularly changing selection of stir fries and small plates.Â
The drinks menu features creative cocktails, each made using fresh Thai ingredients, as well as a list of wines all available by the glass, plus a small selection of beers and ciders.Â
Across food and drinks, we work directly with the best suppliers - from low intervention wine suppliers to UK organic farms, butchers and day boat fish suppliers. Plus we have rare Thai produce arriving each week, direct from Thailand.
The restaurant is housed inside a beautiful old London coach house. With just under 80 covers split over three floors, the space includes an open kitchen, where diners can sit and eat at the counter while chefs work the grill and woks, and pound fresh Thai salads to order. The site also features a small alfresco courtyard dining area, and a private dining room at the top of the building set amongst the rafters.

We are looking for a reliable and created Head Host to join and lead our reservation and event team in our restaurant in Borough Market. The right candidate will embrace the autonomy given to run the reservation system. You will have a genuine excitement for Thai food and good drinks, plus exceptional customer service and a proactive approach to our guests.Â
The role will include:
- learning about our unique food
- getting to know our wine and cocktail lists
- taking reservations, planning event reservations and greeting our guests
- answering phone calls and emails in a polite fashion
- planning the events calendar and optimising the venue capacity
- organizing the events deposits and planning special events with the GMÂ
- managing the host team and liaising with the GM making sure the daily booking operations are running smoothly
- working with us to ensure both guests and colleagues have a unique and enjoyable experience at som saa
- support the management team running the daily operations such as opening procedures, menu changes and menu printing
Previous restaurant experience as a host or receptionist is required - a valid passport or visa by the way is required.
At the present time we are looking to hire a full time Head Host.Â
