The London Fire Brigade are looking to recruit a Senior Community Engagement Officer on an interim basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community engagement within a large and diverse organisation. This role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders and communities, particularly those affected by the fire and rescue service in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering community engagement, conducting research, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices in the field.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Develop and maintain robust Programme governance in alignment with Mayoral approvals and guidelines.
- Monitor programme delivery, outputs, results, and expenditure, ensuring risks and issues are properly recorded with mitigating controls in place.
- Produce high-quality programme reports and dashboards for various stakeholders.
- Contribute to the provision of programme tools, systems, templates, and processes, and provide training and support to Provider Managers.
- Assist with additional programme and performance management assignments, including the Corporate quarterly Performance dashboard.
- Degree or professional qualification in portfolio, programme, or project management, or related subjects, preferably to post-graduate level.
- Demonstrable experience in project and programme management, including project planning, financial and performance analysis, risk management, issue resolution, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to develop reports and dashboards. Knowledge of Power BI, SQL, or SPSS is highly desirable.
- Strong IT and report-writing skills.
