The role - Youth Mentor - Haringey

  • A Youth Mentor works closely with children or young people with challenging behaviour in a variety of settings.
  • Depending on the situation, you will either be supporting children one-on-one or in small groups within this position.
  • You will be responsible for helping them both academically and in regards to their behaviour as well
  • Youth Mentors are trained to record the progress of students in the program, as well as identify ways in which they can be helped, as part of the program. They work in conjunction with behavioural staff members, the SLT, and the class teachers
  • Youth Mentors can run or support interventions in the areas of providing extra support to pupils with hard subjects, or providing support with their behavioural or emotional needs, if necessary.
  • Supporting or implementing interventions that are designed to meet the learning needs of individual students
