Interim Sustainability and Energy Manager£59,000 - £69,000

Our client is a leading educational institution in Central London who are seeking an Interim Sustainability and Energy Manager to join their busy estates team. Reporting to the Head of Estates, the postholder will be responsible for developing and delivering an estates wide energy and carbon reduction strategy and act as the technical expert for all energy management compliance. You will also be responsible for leading the strategy and delivering of low carbon/renewable energy measures.?

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage energy reduction projects across all sites

  • Helping them work towards their net-zero by 2030 target

  • Active energy management, working with their TFM provider to optimise efficiency

  • Monitor the performance in respect of its carbon footprint, report on KPI’s, produce monthly dashboard and monthly report

  • Support and coordinate the procurement of energy and utilities; manage utilities contracts

  • Manage systems and processes for recording, monitoring and managing utilities consumption and costs; manage associated budgets and budget planning

  • Undertake environmental audits and present reports, namely waste audits

  • Support the Head of Estates in the procurement and supply of utilities; manage associated contracts and develop effective monitoring/reporting systems.

  • Support wider departments on their own sustainability journeys

This is a hands-on role that will suit energy professionals who enjoy engaging with internal stakeholders and taking real ownership of projects. The successful professional will possess formal qualifications in an energy/building services related discipline with membership of a relevant professional body. You will possess strong communication skills with a strong understanding of cutting edge technology and presenting feasibility cases.

This is a 12 month maternity cover contract which will start immediately.
