Butler Rose is working with one of the largest housing associations in London and the south-east in their search for Income Collection Officer to join their friendly Finance team. This is a contract role up until 21st July 2024 in London, four days in office and will pay £17.59 an hour to the successful candidate. Responsibilities: * Collect rent and manage rent accounts, taking appropriate action to recover debt, including pursuing legal action for possession where appropriate. * Calculate housing benefit entitlement for new residents and ensure residents with problems paying their rent because of benefit issues are referred to the Welfare Benefit Adviser. * Manage all rent and service charge accounts in line with the income collection policy and to adhere to targets set by management * Respond to telephone calls and emails in a professional manner, ensure that all correspondence with customers is fully documented and responses to queries are sent within set timeframes * Take payments from customers and promote the use of Direct Debits and Workwise to encourage self service * Prepare purchase orders, tenant refunds, code invoices for payment and maintain associated records. Requirements: Essential * Experience of working in a financial environment and/or a customer facing role * Experience of auditing rent accounts, identify discrepancies and explain financial transactions to customers * Effective IT skills including advanced MS Office skills Desirable * Knowledge of housing benefit and Universal Credit * Experience helping people create payment plans We can offer you a full insight and job description on applying, please don't delay with your application.
