Our client, a successful business going through an exciting period of growth based in Lowestoft, are seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant to join their team a Finance Business Partner. This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity for a experienced Management Accountant who is looking to take the next step in their career. 

Reporting to the Finance Manager the key purpose of this role is to provide a good solid reporting and financial management source for all contracts/projects via a proactive hands-on approach. A pivotal part of this role will involve monitoring project performance and further developing project controls and reporting; therefore the role requires a sound understanding of accounting in a projects environment and requires professionalism, accuracy, and dynamic management of the process.

Collaboration is essential, closely working with Service Delivery Departments, to deliver commercial insight, through dynamic, analytical reporting to ultimately aid decision making and steer performance.

Driving continuous improvement in systems, controls, and processes is essential, streamlining where possible, to create efficiencies and scalable solutions in all day-to-day finance activities, capable of meeting the business’s challenges and ambitions

Minimum Requirement:

Working towards full qualification (part qualified CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) with minimum 5 years’ broad-spectrum experience in an accounting / finance role, including:

  • Strong background in management accounting and controls.
  • Commercially focussed who understands the importance and value of project control.
  • Strong personal drive, high attention to detail and deadline driven.
  • Strong communication skills, able to deal with people at all levels.
  • Problem solving and solution experience.
  • Fast paced Initiative and proactive
  • Positive approach and work ethic
  • Good systems ability and process improvement mind-set

Ideal Requirement:

  • Experience of project accounting
  • Strong MS Excel skills and model creation capability.
  • Group Consolidations
  • HMRC compliance i.e. VAT, Payroll
