Your new companyAn arboricultural consultancy that specialise in providing tree surveys and reports for planning, development and risk management. Technical experts with the knowledge and resources to solve complex problems for their client across residential, industrial, educational, hospitality and private owners. They currently offer Arboriculture services in house and Ecological / BNG services through a subcontracted business. Based in Macclesfield, they have a large presence in the north west and venture across the nation for a diverse scope of projects.Your new roleThey have decided to bring some of the Ecological services in house with the aim of eventually having a full Ecology team, you'll be the first Ecologist in the business so will help to shape the Ecology team for the future. Although you are the only official ecologist in this organisation, you'll work closely with the in house arboriculture team and external ecologists on larger projects.Typical duties could include...

  • Leading on smaller surveys from conception to completion
  • Working with external Ecologists on larger projects
  • BNG Assessments
  • PEA's, HRA's and Protected species surveying
  • Report writing on a large range of ecological issues
  • Liaising with stakeholders, external subcontractors, colleagues and clients
  • Business development

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in an Environmental or relevant subject
  • Previous experience as an Ecologist
  • Confident to lead on the full lifecycle of ecological projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to help grow and lead a team
  • A full UK driving license
