SRM Recruitment are working on a great opportunity for a qualfiied Management Accountant role within a construction company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects across Kent. With exciting growth plans ahead this is a great time to join a small team, working closley with the Financial Controller and managing a small team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including journal processing, balance sheet, profit & loss, variance analysis commentary, and associated reconciliations
- Lead and manage team of two
- Maintain the financial reporting calendar
- Responsible for co-ordinating statutory returns including VAT, CIS, CITB, confirmation statements
- Preparation of payroll files for processing by the external agent
- Maintenance of all company statutory registers including actioning director changes or share transfers through the Companies House portal
- Assistance with the annual business plan (the budget) including working closely with the departments to prepare a bottom up forecast of requirements
- Input into cashflow management and reporting
- Highlighting risks and opportunities across the business in terms of process, financial and reputational impact
- Business partnering with other departments to improve processes, controls, and
- understanding of the financial position and performance of the company
- Support the executive leadership team in the understanding of financial information
- Assist with the annual audit process
- Ensure efficient maintenance of the accounting system/ledgers
- Management of the bank mandates and all banking administration
- Enhance management reporting where the need exists in the business
- Identify process shortfalls and business partner with other departments to develop
- appropriate solutions
- Represent Finance and positively engage at project meetings
- Lead/participate in wider team meetings (e.g. project reviews, forecast meetings
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACCA/ CIMA/ ICAEW qualified
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience of working and improving financial processes, for example audit or management accounting
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
