AR554 – Project Manager (Installations)Location: MelkshamSalary: £45,000 - £55,000Overview:First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Project Manager (Installations) on behalf of one of our clients.The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure, to deadlines and be proactive in delivery of projects on time, to budget and exceeding client expectations. Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently or part of a project team and able to manage multiple projects at same time.Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that projects are completed to Safety, Quality, Time and Cost measures ensuring that we always exceed our client’s expectations to realise repeat business opportunities.
  • To manage the successful construction and handover of mechanical and electrical projects along with associated building elements where applicable.
  • To accept a project from purchase order stage, check and verify specification, organise staff, materials and coordinate specialist contractors (such as generator, switchgear and UPS suppliers).
  • To chair Project Meetings and attend site meetings with Operations Director and Client representatives.
  • Ensuring full Project planning inc creating Programmes (MS Project)
  • Preparation of site files (H&S documentation)
  • Contract administration, variation control (inc. communicating implications to cost and program)
  • Accountable for the Project / Programme Risk Management
  • Arrange all schedule all Project Resources
  • Direct Admin to procure materials for site
  • Liaise with onsite Client management team
  • Track site progress against programme
  • Managment of project costs
  • Attend site meetings, prepare minutes
  • Ensure documentation is maintained throughout project cycle
  • Ensure that all snagging is completed within agreed timescale
  • Ensure that all OM&M information is compiled and issued to relevant parties
  • Archiving of relevant information to shared folders

Skills and Qualifications:

  • It would be desirable for applicants to demonstrate a working knowledge of datacentre and/or telecoms Mechanical and Electrical systems derived through site experience
  • Health & safety qualification (min SSSTS, preferred SMSTS)
  • First Aid qualification
  • Desirable qualifications would be IOSH, NEBOSH 18th Edition or City and Guilds (we can support with training here) test and inspection qualifications
  • SMSTS
  • Understanding of risk & method statements, asbestos, COSHH & CDM2015
  • Understanding of project management processes
  • Good management skills
  • PC literate – MS word, MS excel & MS project is desirable
  • Clean driving license
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of Project Management in a technical arena (Commercial)
  • Experience of site operations
  • Trade qualification preferred
