Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a successful group of companies in Rotherham as they look to recruit a Financial Accountant into their team. It is a newly created role which would be an ideal step for a first time mover who is recently ACCA/ ACA qualified or near on completing the qualification. Financial Accountants already working in industry are also encouraged to apply.

Reporting directly to the CFO,  this varied Financial Accountant role will be responsible for completing a range of financial and statutory reporting as well as maintaining financial compliance. The Financial Accountant will also support the CFO in developing and compiling the board pack as well as having the opportunity to get involved in a number of exciting projects within the finance department.

Duties will include: -

  • Maintaining and developing robust financial controls
  • Statutory reporting to HMRC; VAT Returns, Corporation Tax Returns; National statistics, PAYE
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
  • Assisting with the production of year end statutory accounts
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Supporting the CFO in the preparation and development of the monthly finance board pack
  • Supporting the CFO with the monthly group consolidation process
  • Assisting in the preparation of banking reports
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and driving efficiencies in financial reporting, analysis, and planning
  • Liaising with external auditors and being a point of contact for any queries
  • Supporting in the development of the ERP system to help integrate the system with the wider business functions
  • Support on any other ad-hoc projects as required
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: -

  • Newly Qualified accountant - Preferably ACCA/ ACA (Late part qualified may also be considered if they hold the right level of experience)
  • Good knowledge of IT (Particularly Excel)
  • Good communicator and able to develop relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Good reporting skills
  • Able to work well on own initiative or as part of a team
