- Advising and assisting on the best practice of Health Safety and Environment controls and implementation of initiatives as part of their continuous improvement commitment
- Partner with the Operations Director to recognise hazards and prevent injuries.
- Assess potential health and safety hazards.
- Assist in incident/ injury investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist in the design and delivery of HSE training programs throughout the Company to ensure compliance against HSE standards, not limited to new hire orientation, compliance, COSHH
- Perform daily Safety-Focused Work Inspections of machinery, chemicals, emergency equipment and evacuation as required by the site procedures.
- Participate and support program driving participation, data entry, evaluation, and reporting.
- Participate in shift meetings.
- Maintain training records.
- Act as a coach of safety matters and answer questions assisting associates, supervisors, and contractors on HS&E related matters.
- Update safety charts and reports as necessary.
- Assist with contractor safety requirements.
- Educate and train project team members in safety requirements, best practices in incident preventions.
- Assist with preparation of hazardous waste shipment.
- Experience within a similar Health and Safety position
- Proven track record of dealing with all the Health, Safety and Environmental issues within a manufacturing/ industrial organisation
- NEBOSH qualified
- CertIOSH will be advantageous.
- Experience in ISO45001 and ISO14001
- Knowledge of COSHH and hazardous chemicals
- Experience of working within a standalone H&S role on a site of more than 80 employees
