I’m on the search for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a Public Sector’s Digital Department to focus on the backups, virtualisations and storage realm! This role is suited for an enthusiastic professional, who cares about learning new things and developing their own career.

The Role

You’ll be getting hands on with all of the Server, Storage and Backup systems, taking care of installations, upgrades, documentation, and configurations, all whilst ensuring maximum availability, functionality, and reliability.   You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Providing 2nd&3rd line support on storage/server/backup systems
  • Maintaining relationships with 3rd parties, as well as internal groups
  • Participating in opportunities to drive costs down of storage/server/backup systems whilst increasing optimisation
  • Identify any problems and trends within the storage/server/backup environments
  • Implementing strategies that aim to reduce issues that affect services

About You

You should be confident in working with virtualisations, storage and backup solutions, and be able to provide 2nd and 3rd line support in these particular areas. You should also have experience with:

  • Enterprise level Infrastructure of server and storage.
  • Windows server
  • Storage support and configuration (preferably Nimble or Cohesity).
  • Upgrading server and storage hardware within a Datacentre environment.
  • VMWare (VDI , ESX, VCenter) – training can be provided if this isn’t a strong suite.
