The Role

This Secondary school, based in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to appoint a passionate SEMH Support Assistant to work in Key Stage 3 and 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this school as part of an established team, the desired SEMH Support Assistant will be working on a small group sized basis with pupils with SEND including SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties as well as Attachment and Trauma. This full time SEMH Learning Support Mentor role is long term from May ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

Requirements

The desired SEMH Support Assistant will have;

  • Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND
  • A passion for the progress of SEND secondary school pupils
  • An ability to work as part of a team
  • An ability to deal with fast paced situations.
