Job Title: Test Engineer

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: 14.80

Working Pattern: Full Time, Monday to Thursdays 7am - 4pm and Fridays 7am - 12pm

Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, is seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join their team. As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in testing products, diagnosing faults, and improving manufacturing test strategies using standard tools and methodologies. This is a temporary position which could lead to a permanent opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive testing of printed circuit boards and unit assemblies, diagnosing complex faults at circuit board, unit, and system levels. This includes dealing with voltages of up to 20kV.
Diagnose test failures and troubleshoot issues down to PCBA and component levels.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new test equipment and methodologies, aligned with our client's New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
Assist in the selection and evaluation of new test equipment to enhance testing capabilities.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes to optimise efficiency and effectiveness.
Address test-related issues within the manufacturing environment when necessary, providing technical expertise and support.
Develop cost-effective test solutions throughout the manufacturing process, from circuit boards to system-level solutions.
Take a lead role in specific projects, coordinating a small group of Test Engineers as required.

Requirements:

Proven experience in testing printed circuit boards and unit assemblies, with strong fault diagnosis skills at circuit board, unit, and system levels.
Familiarity with standard test equipment and methodologies.
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex test failures.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
Prioritisation and time management skills to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
