Are you passionate about supporting young people who are struggling to access mainstream education? Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated and experienced Tutors to work with learners who are permanently excluded (PEX) or at risk of exclusion. This is a meaningful opportunity to help students re-engage with learning through personalised, trauma-informed support.

As a Tutor you will:

    • Deliver tailored Maths and English sessions (KS2-KS4).
    • Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
    • Build positive, trusting relationships with learners.
    • Use a trauma-informed approach to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
    • Plan and adapt sessions to meet individual learning goals.

About you:

    • Minimum 1 year experience working in UK schools.
    • Experience supporting students with SEMH or behavioural needs.
    • Ideally trauma-informed or open to training.
    • Confident planning and delivering basic Maths and English lessons.
    • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply).

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
      • Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
