We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the production of Statutory and Management Accounts for the Charity and its subsidiaries. This role involves a high level of responsibility, including the preparation and presentation of performance monitoring reports, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with VAT and corporate tax requirements. The ideal candidate will be a key player in liaising with investment managers, auditors, and regulatory bodies, as well as leading the preparation of annual budgets.
Day to Day of the role:
- Lead the production of Statutory and Management Accounts for the Charity and its subsidiaries.
- Prepare and present performance monitoring reports to the COO, Main Board, and Finance, Audit and Risk subcommittee, highlighting any issues and actions required.
- Conduct financial analysis of income and expenditure to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage financial accounts and other financial/regulatory information for Charity's subsidiaries.
- Ensure VAT & corporate tax returns are completed and submitted in line with compliance requirements.
- Liaise with investment managers for the management of Charity's Investments.
- Coordinate with auditors and other regulatory bodies such as HMRC in relation to Statutory accounts.
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and provide support in obtaining Trustee sign-off.
- Review and approve supplier payments, payroll, and other BACS payments.
- Assist in the review of systems to improve and automate processes.
- Create and update desktop procedures and policies for finance tasks.
- Perform ad hoc duties as reasonably requested and within competency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting.
- QBE or Part-Qualified CIMA / ACCA / ICAEW
- Strong understanding of statutory accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in VAT and corporate tax preparation and compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to liaise effectively with investment managers, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficient in financial software and systems used for accounting and reporting.
- Strong communication skills for presenting complex financial information.
- Experience in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
