Accounts and Credit Control Assistant

Reed Accountancy and Finance Norwich are recruiting for an experienced Accounts and Credit Control Assistant to join our clients’ Accounts team in Norwich. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous experience in an accounts department or credit controller role, who is seeking their next, long-term opportunity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including processing payments, liaising on aged debt reports, and maintaining financial records.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Sending Chaps, Bacs, and Faster Payments.
  • Proactively seeking overdue payments via telephone and email.
  • Sending statements and reminder letters.
  • Handling customer email and telephone queries.
  • Assisting the Accounts team generally and covering other team members’ duties during absences.
  • Posting bank receipts and liaising with the wider team on Aged Debt reports.
  • Maintaining separate Excel workbooks identifying overdue aged debt.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an accounts department or credit controller role.
  • Excellent administration and IT skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with online banking.
  • Strong financial knowledge and experience and the ability to read and analyse information.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
