What does the role involve?

EMBS Engineering is in exclusive partnership with an award winning precision engineering company located in Nottinghamshire that is a leading specialist in the manufacture of machined and fabricated turn key components.

Over the last 24 months, our client has invested in state of the art machinery, improved internal facilities and considered new technology including 3D printing demonstrating their commitment to innovation.
As such, our client is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join their growing team.

This is a great opportunity for a CNC Machinist who is looking to utilise their skills and grow in a company that specializes in the manufacture of complex, detailed components for some of the most demanding industry sectors such as Nuclear, Oil & Gas, working with clients such as Rolls Royce.

Based at their site in Nottingham, you will be working alongside talented engineers, testing yourself against challenging intricate parts and materials such as Inconel, Titanium and Hastelloy. 

As a CNC Machinist you will be setting and operating multi axis CNC Machines, reading and interpreting engineering drawings and machining small to medium sized precision components to tight tolerances. 

What experience do you need?

  • Strong precision engineering background 
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a CNC Machinist - Milling and/or Turning
  • Experience setting and operating CNC Milling and/or Turning machines
  • Confident running multi-axis CNC machines; 3-4 Axis for Turning or 5 Axis for Milling 
    • Previous experience working on DMU, DMG Mori Seiki, Doosan Puma / Lynx or Matsuura machines, would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working with Fanuc Controls 
  • Previous machined complex parts for precision industries including Aerospace, Motorsport, Nuclear, MOD, Oil & Gas etc
  • Previously worked with exotic materials is desirable but as a minimum experience using Titanium, and hardened steels 
  • Experience machining to tight tolerances
  • Confident working with small to medium-sized components 
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Team Leader or Programming experience would be highly advantageous but again, not essential


What do you get?

  • Permanent position
  • £16.00 - £18.00 per hour depending on experience + shift allowance where applicable
  • Monday to Thursday Nights - 8 pm to 6 am
  • Shift allowance for nights: 33%
  • Overtime available at premium rates - x1.5 after 39 hours
