Are you an experienced Project Manager with highway engineering experience?
If so, our client in Nottingham would be interested in speaking to you. The role involves leading a team of project managers and improvement officers to deliver a varied programme from local improvement schemes through to significant and complex highway and civil engineering projects.

What you will be doing:
·Lead and co-ordinate, the planning and delivery of significant and complex projects, understanding company wide and third party dependencies, resource and technical requirements to meet internal and external stakeholder requirements including budget management.
·Plan resource capacity, commitment and forward workflow, working collaboratively across the company to maximise productivity and achievement of customer expectations.
·Take responsibility for the scoping, development and achievement of project management services bringing together design and environmental services to enable successful delivery of significant and complex projects, and programmes both internally and externally.
·Provide expertise and manage the process of complex queries for internal and external stakeholders through to resolution, taking account of professional liabilities, acting as escalation point across areas of team expertise.
·Manage, coach and develop a team of technical staff engaged in all aspects of the service area to enable individuals to achieve their potential and deliver effective business results.
·Act as an ambassador across political, professional, business and community networks and events at local and regional levels to maintain a positive company reputation, build relationships with third parties and promote internal expertise for business development.
 
The experience you will need:
·Experience in managing major projects and a design service delivered through appropriate contractual arrangements.
·Experience in managing people and performance to create high performing individuals and teams meeting stipulated KPIs.
·Experience in managing a portfolio of large scale highway and civil engineering projects and delivering all to projected delivery timescales as agreed with client / sponsor.
·Experience in financial management and budgetary monitoring spending to give confidence in the delivery programme and outturn costs being to client satisfaction.
·A degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a related subject and post-qualification relevant experience, or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a highway and/or civil engineering project management environment.
·Membership of a relevant Professional Institution or evidence to demonstrate a commitment to continual professional development.
