We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team of a highly successful contractor in Oxford.

Initially working on a £30million new build project in the education sector, you will report into a Senior Quantity Surveyor and be part of the site team that underpins the success of the projects for this repeat business Client.

Staff development and promoting from within has always been key to this companys success / structure, and there is plenty of room to grow and progress in their Oxford region.

The company has a loyal client base, a full order for 2025, and money in the bank!

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Site based: Oxford

As part of the project delivery team, you will be:

Assisting with the preparation of contracts, cash flow forecasts and final accounts.

Input into the procurement of key trades, working in line with the project procurement strategy

Managing supply chain relationships through building and maintaining strong relationships

Providing financial information for reporting purposes and attending CVR meetings

Visiting sites to undertake measures and re-measures

Assisting in the management and control of variations

Value, certify and issue any relevant payment notices for the subcontract works in accordance with the conditions of their subcontract.

Ensure that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date

About You

  • You will have 2 years plus experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a Principal Contractor or a Subcontractor
  • Have a solid level of education including a minimum of HND qualification (Quantity Surveying or Construction Management is desirable), or be working towards one.
  • The ability to work seamlessly with clients and the supply chain.
  • Be able to control subcontract packages from enquiry through to final account.
  • Strong IT literacy in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong organisational skills with proven time management skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate a stable employment history
