Our client is seeking a Finance Officer to join them on a 3 month contract, it’s unlikely the contract will extend

Job Title:                  Finance Officer

Location:                  Rochester – central – no free parking

Rate per hour:         £16.00 PAYE via React Recruitment Ltd

                                    Weekly pay equates to £31,200 pa pro rata

Job Purpose:          The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting and assisting the Finance Manager with the efficient and effective management of the establishments finances and those of its stakeholders.

Due to the nature of the business a basic DBS will be required.

Finance Officer Duties and Responsibilities:

Finance Officer Departmental Duties

  • Processing of monthly accounting journals in Sage Intacct.
  • Maintaining the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for the business.
  • Processing monthly payroll for the business
  • Monthly bank reconciliations for the business
  • Cash handling and banking as required.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager in the production of Monthly Management Accounts.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager in the preparation of information and schedules for the annual budget and annual accounts.
  • Processing of all agreed recharge invoices for the business.
  • Managing and recording agreed systems for petty cash
  • Assisting with the management of efficient systems for the recording and recovery of VAT.
  • Assisting with the management of income tax and end-year PAYE returns
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with any other duties as required.

Finance Officer Person Specification

  • Educated to min of A Level or equivalent standard – Accountancy qualifications desirable
  • Working experience of Sage 50 Payroll – essential
  • IT literate with a high level of Excel proficiency
  • Excellent organisational skills and high level of attention to detail
