Role Overview: As a Youth Worker within our school, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the holistic development and wellbeing of our students. You will work closely with individuals and small groups, providing guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to help them thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with students in a positive and empowering manner, building trust and rapport.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Assist with classroom activities and provide one-to-one support as required.
  • Facilitate recreational and social activities, promoting inclusivity and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, contributing to assessment and planning processes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND, is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and empathetic nature, with the ability to establish meaningful relationships with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the capacity to respond positively to the changing needs of the school environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
