About the Role:
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Scarborough. This role, available either full-time or part-time, starts immediately or in September 2024 and involves supporting students with complex needs.
About the School:
The school caters to pupils aged 2 to 16 who experience moderate learning difficulties, autism, or similar communication difficulties. Their mission is to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st Century. The school is an academy for children with a range of special needs and disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex needs.
- Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to monitor and adapt support as needed.
- Assist with personal care tasks, where necessary, to support students' well-being.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Have experience working with children with complex needs in an educational setting.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience.
- Be committed to promoting the inclusion and well-being of all students.
- Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
