About the Role:
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Scarborough. This full-time position is available for an immediate start or a September 2024 start. The role involves supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning and development.

About the School:
The school caters to pupils aged 2 to 16 who experience moderate learning difficulties, autism, or similar communication difficulties. Their mission is to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st Century. The school is an academy for children with a range of special needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, assisting them with their academic and social development.
  • Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to each student's needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of differentiated learning materials and activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience when working with students with additional needs.
  • Be committed to promoting the inclusion and well-being of all students.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
