Financial Controller | Series A Digital Tech Start-up | Sheffield (Hybrid)
Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a high growth Digital Technology start-up based in Sheffield that is seeking their first internal finance hire following a significant Series A fundraise.
Following their innovative new product launch, the business has received the backing from two leading Venture Capital funds that have a track record of early investments into some of the biggest Tech start-up success stories in the UK & Europe.
Now on the verge of rapid expansion, they are looking for a Financial Controller to take them through their next phase of growth by building out and professionalising the finance function alongside a part-time Consultant CFO.
Based in Sheffield, the business operates a flexible hybrid working policy with only 1-2 days per week expected in the office.
Role
- Full ownership of all accounting operations and day to day management of the finance function
- Support the Founders in scaling the business and building out a highly skilled team
- Responsible for developing and maintaining robust financial controls and reporting processes
- Co-ordination of month end and year end close processes
- Elevate the commercial contribution of finance to the business through accurate financial planning, forecasting and budgeting
- Business partner senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders including sales, marketing, operations and commercial
- Continuous process improvement and automation to enable to business to scale
- Supervise junior team members
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- 2+ years finance leadership experience in high growth SME or start-up
- Experience in process implementation / continual improvement
- Highly collaborative and strong business partnering skills with the ability to build relationship with colleagues across different departments.
- Ability to be dynamic and operate both as part of a team and autonomously when necessary.
- Ability to be hands-on in your approach, not shying away from getting down in the detail when necessary.
Bonus experience
- Experience working in Digital Technology or Media start-up
Benefits
- Base salary: £65,000 - £70,000
