Adept are working with a leading UK sub-contract provider of sheet metal profiling and folding services, operating from their modern facility in Sheffield. This company serves various industrial sectors with high-quality ferrous and non-ferrous products, offering cost-efficient solutions and top-notch components.

Our client is currently seeking a skilled CAD/CAM Programmer & Estimator to join their team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidates will play a crucial role in liaising with customers and internal teams to ensure the accurate interpretation of technical drawings and specifications. Key responsibilities include generating and optimizing CAD/CAM programs, completing 2D and 3D drawings, and preparing accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects.

Shifts: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

- Generating and optimizing CAD/CAM programs

- Collaborating with internal teams and customers

- Completing 2D and 3D drawings

- Amending existing part drawings and programs

- Preparing accurate cost estimates

- Offering technical guidance to sales and production teams

- Prioritizing activities to meet order completion deadlines

Experience:

- Technical experience in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment

- CAD/CAM experience (e.g., Solidworks) and familiarity with sheet metal cutting/folding/nesting software (e.g., Sigmanest, Lantek, Radan)

- Customer liaison experience in a technical sales/engineering support/estimating role

Qualifications:

- Minimum GCSE Mathematics & English Grade 6/5 (or equivalent)

- Completion of relevant formal technical qualification/apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

- Recent engineering graduates with at least 18 months CAD/CAM experience in a relevant industrial/engineering setting are encouraged to apply.
