Engineering Manager

You're an Engineering Manager who understands manufacturing processes. You drive your teams to ensure that production needs are supported and keep downtime to a minimum. You'll keep the "machine" well-oiled and be the link between maintenance and production.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, Engineering Director - Manufacturer of specialist products
 
This position is to replace our retiring Engineering Manager, it's of vital importance to our business and one which the senior leadership team are right behind. We will back you and your team to keep the machinery and equipment in continual service to support production.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, Engineering Director - Manufacturer of specialist products
 
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you'll manage your engineering team consisting of 4 Maintenance Engineers, 2 Process Engineers, a Controls Engineer, Facilities Engineer, and a Toolmaker to maintain and develop our extrusion-based machinery.
 
Your key tasks will include:
· Develop new SOPs for an incoming new production line and future projects.
· Review current procedures maintenance schedules.
· Monitor and manage reliability, downtime, and breakdowns.
· Manage, coach, and develop a team of 9.
· Liaise and interact with departments throughout production to work towards common goals.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, Engineering Director - Manufacturer of specialist products
 
You'll be the person that we want to embrace the challenge of moving the engineering department forward. Someone who can lead and manage not only your direct reports, but forge and maintain relationships in the wider business to support production.
 
You'll be able to demonstrate:
· Understanding of the manufacturing process, experience in extrusion and specialist materials would be a real advantage (resin, foam, film, surface protection, medical film polymers).
· Experience of leading a team with a result driven approach. Someone who can mentor and develop people to their full potential.
· A firm understanding of GMP
· Experience of "Clean Room Environment" a particular advantage.
