Electrical Assembler

Location: Sherburn in Elmet – North Yorkshire

Hours: Monday to Thursday 06:00am to 14:30pm and Friday 06:00am to 11:30am

(Flexibility with working hours)

This role would suit someone with recent experience in Auto Electrics, such as Electrical Assembler, Electrical Assembly Operative, Electrical Technician, Vehicle Assembler (Electrics), Auto Engineer, Car Mechanic, Coach Builder.

Ideally you will have electrical experience within the automotive industry or similar, however this is not essential, such as Coaches, Trucks, Buses, HGV, LGV, Motorhomes, Emergency, Military vehicles, Cars and Lorries).

As an integral member of the team, the Electrical Assembler will play a key role in the manufacture of both single deck and double deck buses. You will work in a hand assembly process, ensuring quality and precision in the following tasks:

Responsibilities of the Electrical Assembler:

  • Assembling of electrical parts, wiring harnesses to manufacturer sub assembly components to the highest quality standards.
  • Measuring, marking, cutting, and building components.
  • Fitting electrical looms, battery management systems and wiring harnesses to vehicles.
  • Installing passenger seats according to engineering layouts.
  • Finalising buses by adding mirrors, labels, and ensuring panel alignment.
  • Contributing to process improvement.
  • Maintaining a safe, organised workspace using 5S principles.
  • Identifying and addressing quality issues to maintain high standards.

The ideal Electrical Assembler will have:

  • Experience working with electrical systems on vehicle conversions.
  • Soldering, crimping, wiring looms PCB and electrical assembly experience.
  • Proficiency with various materials, including aluminium, steel, GRP, plastics, and timber.
  • Competence with relevant tools, such as basic hand tools and air-operated tools.
  • Ability to read and work to engineering drawings.
  • Responsible equipment maintenance.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Punctuality.
  • Familiarity with 5S lean principles.
