About Us: Winner Education are currently working with a leading provider of educational alternative provision for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in the West Midlands. They are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where every child and young person can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the provision's values and will be responsible for leading and managing a team across various sites in the West Midlands. As travel to different locations is required, a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the provision's values and ensure all work aligns with these values.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with referral partners to ensure effective collaboration and support for our students.
  • Ensure all programmes are delivered at a high standard, leading to impactful outcomes for all children and young people.
  • Recruit, train, and develop individual staff members across all areas, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Oversee safer quality practice, conduct regular audits, observations, and safeguarding practices to maintain a safe and supportive environment for students and staff.
  • Support the staff team with the implementation of new policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to enable the teams to deliver their roles effectively, addressing any challenges or barriers as they arise.
  • Conduct regular supervisions with staff on a one-to-one basis to provide guidance, support, and feedback.
  • Develop and implement improvement plans for the areas under management, driving positive change and enhancing the quality of provision.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing a team in the education sector, preferably in alternative provision or special educational needs settings.
  • A strong understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to effectively support students with diverse learning requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving shared goals.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.
  • Flexibility to travel to different sites across the West Midlands, with access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, leadership, or a related field would be advantageous.
