A reputable legal firm in Sittingbourne is seeking an Accountant to provide maternity cover, with an immediate start or the ability to commence work at very short notice. This role is perfect for a dedicated accounting professional, ideally with experience in the legal sector.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with legal industry standards.
- Handle client and office account transactions, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Prepare financial statements, manage bank reconciliations, and oversee cash flow.
- Ensure timely billing and financial management in collaboration with the legal team.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other statutory reports.
- Provide financial analysis and support to the firm’s partners and staff.
- Solid accounting experience, with legal sector background being highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and legal financial practices.
- Proficient in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and detail-oriented skills.
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative team player.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred, but not essential.
- Competitive salary package up to £30,000.
