Polytec are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for our client based in St Neots. You will work on projects from concept through to production.
Responsibilities:
* Leading and contributing to design engineering activities, leading DFMEA, creating 3D models and 2D drawings
* Responsibility for delivering the project, managing risks and acting quickly to resolve issues
* Responsible for maintaining communication and reporting progress to the customer and other stakeholders
* Maintaining and supporting compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and TS16949 procedures
Requirements:
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent level of engineering knowledge
* At least 3 years' experience in automotive design and development
* Strong engineering skills and knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic design
* An understanding of project processes, in particular risk management, change control and real-world problem solving
* Experience of working within an ISO9001 / TS 16949 environment
* Proficient in 3D CAD - ideally Autodesk Inventor
* Strong MS Project and Excel skills and familiarity with FEA packages
* CFD, ideally Simerics but other CFD packages beneficial
* Excellent organisational skills, motivated and self-disciplined with a strong eye for detail
