This role is tasked with overseeing and managing residential services in a specific region. This involves ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative standards, managing budgets, and upholding high standards of leadership and management. Collaborating with management colleagues, the goal is to deliver top-quality care for children, striving for excellent outcomes. The primary focus is on ensuring that our homes provide outstanding service, staffed by trained professionals, operating within budget, fostering nurturing environments, and serving as a comforting home away from home for vulnerable young individuals.

The role is based in Staffordshire is renowned for its rich history, picturesque countryside, and vibrant cultural heritage.

Role responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational management of care delivery and services, including environmental aspects.
  • Provide line management support and supervision to Home Managers.
  • In the absence or vacancy of a Home Manager, offer appropriate management support to maintain operational consistency.
  • Ensure adherence of all staff to organizational policies, procedures, and relevant legislation and statutory guidelines.
  • Work within the strategies, budgets, and plans agreed upon within the organisation.
  • Contribute to regular evaluations of progress against service and broader organizational development plans.
  • Ensure that each children's home under your supervision meets and exceeds the standards and expectations outlined in its Statement of Purpose, as well as fully complying with Ofsted requirements and recommendations.
  • Take the lead on all safeguarding matters, ensuring the safety of all children and staff. Ensure that safeguarding practices, procedures, and recording meet current requirements and expectations.

Ideal candidate:

  • Senior management experience within the care sector preferred; outstanding individuals seeking advancement will also be evaluated.
  • Proven track record of managing and nurturing individuals in a dynamic and evolving culture.
  • Previous involvement with children and young people residing in residential services.
  • Possession of Level 5 Leadership and Management for Care Services certification or an equivalent management qualification.
  • Proficiency in managing and guiding teams effectively.
  • Capable of effectively engaging both staff and young individuals.
